This detailed private guided exploration of Bulgaria’s highest and most beautiful mountains is offered to individuals, couples or small groups, providing the perfect opportunity to get to know more about the incredible diversity of the country's alpine flora, and the chance to seek out a fascinating assortment of local, Bulgarian and Balkan endemics.

During our travels we will look out for beautiful local endemics such as the Rila Primrose (Primula deorum) and Pirin Poppy (Papaver degenii), as well as a host of other Bulgarian endemic species including: Arabis ferdinandii-coburgii, Arenaria pirinica, Arenaria rhodopaea, Brassica jordanoffii, Galium stojanovii, Geum rhodopaeum, Jasione bulgarica, Marrubium frivaldskyanum, Oxytropis urumoffii, Seseli rhodopaeum, Silene roemerii, Verbascum davidoffii, Veronica kellererii and Viola rhodopaea.

We will also find many Balkan endemics including: Aquilegia aurea, Gentianella bulgarica), Geum bulgaricum, Geum coccineum, Angelica pancicii, Centaurea immanuelis-loewi, Haberlea rhodopensis, Jovibarba heuffelii, Petkovia orphanidea, Saxifraga ferdinandii-coburgii, Saxifraga stribrnyi, Scabiosa rhodopensis, Senecio pancicii, Sideritis scardica, Trachelium rumelianum, Viola grisebachiana and Viola perinensis.

There will of course be a whole range of other wonderful alpine flowers as we wander through ancient forests, lush mountain pastures and amongst moraines, screes and crags, including: Anemone narcissiflora, Aster alpinus, Daphne cneorum, Doronicum austriacum, Dryas octopetala, Leontopodium alpinum, Lilium martagon, Primula farinosa, Primula minima, and Soldanella pusilla, as well as a bewildering mix of Campanula ssp., Dianthus ssp., Silene ssp., Saxifraga ssp., and Gentiana ssp.
