More detailed maps for walkers and naturalists are now available, and cover Bulgaria's major mountain ranges, as well as the coast. However, they can still be difficult to obtain and vary greatly in terms of scale and accuracy. There are several good road maps for Bulgaria on the market, as well as street plans for many of Bulgaria's towns. Apart from the standard travel guides, there are also a number of more specialist books and guides that are highly recommendable for walkers, naturalists and all those with a deeper interest in Bulgaria's mountains, nature, history and culture.
